William A. Nelson started the company in the late 1930’s in Houston, TX. Became Nelson Bringolf in 1940’s. Renamed Nelson-Silvia in early 1960’s when long time employee Floyd Silvia acquired interest. Manufactured badges and many rodeo trophy buckles including world championship ones. Nelson-Silvia buckles were among the most popular rodeo buckles. Floyd’s son, silversmith/engraver Rick Silvia (deceased), also worked at the company. Company shut down in the late 1900s or early 2000s. Believe the dies and equipment has been sold off.
